Comfort Pillows

In 2004, a Zonta Club of Lapeer Area committee was formed to begin making Comfort Pillows for mastectomy patients to be distributed through the local hospital, and in 2005, the project was expanded to multiple distribution centers. Our goal is to supply a pillow to every woman in need with one of the pillows at no charge. These heart-shaped pillows comfort the patient and provide support during recovery. They are made of soft fabrics and stuffed with fiberfill and are completely washable.  Newer pillows come with a pocket which is perfect for holding an ice or heat pack.

During the day, pillows can be obtained during the day by visiting the Lapeer District Library Administration Office, at 201 Village West Drive, in Lapeer.  If you would like a pillow mailed to you at no expense, please contact Kate Pohjola at 810-664-9521.
